Tania- Thanks so much for sharing this and reminding me of how much I love Gibran. His bow and arrow philosophy. When did you start learning about Gibran?
You're welcome! I first learned about Gibran in College, but didn't realize that he was also an artist and illustrated his own books until a few years later.
And now I have to visit Lebanon, Tania, you make a compelling case. Thank you for bringing your readers along with you as you made your pilgrimage and for reminding us what a must-read author Gibran is, especially now nearly a century later.
Thanks Cathy. I wouldn't make plans soon, but let's add it to our list of places to visit in the future! I'd love to take you! I have other sites from Lebanon to share in my next post, too.
Thank you, Ann. I don't know about the furniture. I don't remember that he painted furniture, but it's quite possible. I will ask my Gibran colleagues to see what they know.
Beautiful post! I spent time in Lebanon while researching a cookbook about monastic food and your experience brought me back to that unforgettable trip. Thank you.
It really is. I visited the Mar Antonios Qozhaya when I was there. There is so much more I want to see and hope to return one day. One disappointment--the few cedar trees. I nearly cried when I saw them. I understand there is some effort to grow more. I hope they can.
Great photos!! Loved the read 🙌
Thank you!

I loved reading about this powerful and transformative museum visit and seeing the beautiful photos and video.
I’m curious if the paintings on Gibran’s furniture (right side of the 4th photo in this article) was his work?
I hope you get to return for another visit and that they are enjoying peace in Lebanon soon!

What a fantastic experience for you! Loved all the images and the video, Tania. Thank you.
Yes, it was amazing! Thank you so much for reading and watching!

I'm so glad to hear this! Thank you for saying so! Your cookbook sounds intriguing, I'll have to look it up!
I covered a Maronite monastery in Lebanon located on Mount Lebanon in the cedar forest. It was such an inspiring visit. The country is so remarkable!
